It seems like it was just 51 years ago, today (May 12th), that a very young Bob Dylan stormed out of his rehearsals for his premier appearance on the US television series 'The Ed Sullivan Show'.  Bob had been told in no uncertain terms that he couldn't play his song 'Talking John Birch Paranoid Blues' due to it's irreverent piss-takes on the US military and segregation in the States.  CBS insisted he choose another song to play.  Bob replied 'No, this is what I want to do.  If I can't play my song, I'd rather not do your show.'  There's scarcely a musician alive these days who would do that.  Thanks for displaying some integrity Mr. Zimmerman!  Here is Bob singing the same song in 1963, live at Town Hall.
