Original WAR Fans LOL, you too funny, LAFP! You write like a cool, lowrider DJ would speak! Great footage of the REAL War, whose name and copywrites were stolen by Jerry Goldstein. Most people who love War don't know that the band touring as War is totally fake. There is only one original member, the rest are indentured slaves to Goldstein. If you wanna see the real thing, go see the Lowrider Band, which consists of the original members of War, minus the late Charles Miller and Pappa Dee Alan.

The Los Angeles Free Press 60's Music Site [Steven here] Am watching this ENTIRE video.... just fabulous.... I love this site.... hey, 'thanks' Nolan!!!
-
-
Terry Greene Hey, Steven. Nolan outdid himself by unearthing this rare 40 minute jam by the original War and Eric Burdon. Forty minutes of pure bliss! Appreciate both of your support of the original War, whose members are not allowed to tour under the name they made famous due to a secret copywrite theft by another Hollywood "business manager" aka gangster thug, Jerry Goldstein. This is ain't just heinously wrong, this is personal. Thanks again to both of you, my friends!

The Los Angeles Free Press 60's Music Site Watched the ENTIRE vid... yow, truly great. So what's your role?
-
-
The Los Angeles Free Press 60's Music Site y'know... I get the feeling you and I should have dinner together... start at about 67 and work our way up... Chinese is fine. And seriously... what made you into a War promoter?
-
Terry Greene OK, here's the short version (LOL): I was living in London in 1971 and my best friend had met and was dating Lonnie Jordon of Eric Burdon and War. They invited me to come along on their tour through England and Scotland (we were all from Long Beach). They were billed as Eric Burdon and War but Burdon never showed up, calling every day from Hollywood, 6,000 miles away, to say he'd meet them at the next gig for sure! People had bought ticket to see Eric Burdon and War, not just War. Nobody knew who War was, just Eric Burdon's "back-up" band. At every stop, War had to announce that Eric wasn't able to be their and they could get their money back or stay and give them a chance. Amazingly, most stayed and War was so mind-blowingly awesome, they burned the house down at every stop from Manchester to Glasgow and back through Newcastle. Besides being brilliantly innovative musicians, they were down to earth, funny and kind. I asked Charles Miller, the late, great sax player, if he might deliver a little Scottish" tam" or plaid beret with a pom pom on top to my baby niece in Long Beach for me, not really thinking he would go out of his way for a near stranger but my late sister Patti told me Charles had actually come over to her humble apt. with the hat for my niece. They hung out and talked and my sister really liked him. She was a checker at a supermarket on 10th and Long Beach Blvd where, it turns out, Charles's mother shopped. My sister always asked about how Charles was, etc. Then one day, nine years after I met Charles, the mom came through her line and told Patty Charles had been murdered with a knife in a robbery attempt. Sooooooooooo sad, never solved. By that time, he was married with children. This was after they made all their GREAT songs. So now this fake "War the Band" is pretending to be the real War and making money off the songs Charles and his brethren wrote, sang and recorded, their golden oeuvre of classics that are loved throughout the world to this day. The og members have been screwed and it makes me mad, seriously mad, and I'm determined to help them get their name back so THEY can tour as the famous War they are. It's time for payback! We're trying to start a revolution, so to speak, to let people know that War the Band, who are raking in the money, is not the real War while the real War is touring under the name of the Lowrider Band who nobody knows is really War. All because of Gerry Goldstein, "talent agent". who secretly copy-wrote their name and now "owns" it, using hired hands to pass of as the original members when there is only one og in that band, the traitor Lonnie Jordon who sold his sold to the devil. Now you wanna hear the long version? ;D

The Los Angeles Free Press 60's Music Site Think this does it. Everybody got it? Now all you got to do, Terry, is say where we can find a touring schedule for Lowrider Band.
-
Terry Greene Will do! Give me a bit, I'll get Lowrider Queen on it. Sorry for chewing your ear off... Like I said, it's Chinatown, Jake. xx

On
stage at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. This was the last gig that
I had my Telecaster bass and Tommy had his red Les Paul. Eddie
Shepard, our road manager, lost them at the airport the next day. Both
guitars were one of a kind and our sound was never quite the same.
Karma, neh?
